Mykel B. Davis Headlines Grind Pretty Fest, Showcases Muscle Up Mommy Wearable Pumps for Moms & Entrepreneurs
On Small Business Saturday, I packed up the car and headed to Dallas, TX, for a 12-hour round-trip journey that reminded me exactly why I do what I do. Grind Pretty Fest had an intentional room full of founders, creators, moms, and innovators who understand the weight of building something meaningful from the ground up.
This time, I wasn’t just attending. I was speaking. Representing Muscle Up Mommy as both a community builder and content creator, I shared lessons I’ve learned while growing a brand that reaches mothers across the world.
Content That Connects — Without Losing Yourself
On stage, I talked about the importance of being relatable and authentic online while still holding space for boundaries. In an era where every trending topic invites a reaction, I reminded creators that being “brand-safe” doesn’t mean being boring—it means being intentional.
The truth is: the same brands you want to partner with are evaluating your approach to risk management. When you strategically choose what not to talk about, you show that you’re community-first, that you’re thoughtful, and that you’re building something with longevity.
That discipline is what strengthens your brand equity, elevates your authority, and ultimately positions you for higher-value partnerships.
Stories That Inspire
One of the most powerful parts of the weekend was meeting comedic storyteller, content creator, and two-time stroke and heart attack survivor, Dr. Shanta Quilette Deville. Her journey is a reminder of why women’s wellness, rest, and stress management matter more than we often admit.
She shared her powerful story of healing while juggling motherhood and entrepreneurship, and how that journey led her to create Girl B Natural and The Pink Peppermint Project—both dedicated to advocating for women’s wellness.
We also connected with powerhouse women like:
Benaisha Poole-Watson, CEO of Prime One Home Loans & Central One Lending Group—the only women-owned lender financing across 120 countries
Mimi Johnson, Founder of Grind Pretty
DJ Traci Steele, who lit up the atmosphere with energy and intention
Every conversation felt like a masterclass in grace, grit, and possibility.
My First Pitch Competition—Ever
In a moment of spontaneity, I entered my very first pitch competition for a chance to win $1,000. I stepped on stage to present the Muscle Up Mommy J35 cordless wearable breast pumps, sharing why this innovation matters for career moms and corporations alike.
I highlighted how our pumps help women regain autonomy in environments that were never designed with breastfeeding mothers in mind. How they reduce pressure, increase proficiency, and allow moms to work and pump discreetly—completely cordless, quiet, and mobile.
I didn’t win, but I walked away with something far better: clarity.
You don’t have a chance if you don’t enter.
And yes… it’s officially time to take the many suggestions and head to Shark Tank.
What’s Next for Muscle Up Mommy
As 2025 continues, we’re gearing up for our 2026 fitness reboot tour, expanding our community initiatives, and preparing for MUMFEST Wellness Festival—a global celebration of motherhood, health, and innovation.
Grind Pretty Fest was the reminder I didn’t know I needed: the work we’re doing matters. The solutions we’re building matter. And the community rising beside us matters even more.
Dallas was a quick turnaround, but the impact will stay with me for a long time. And if this weekend proved anything, it’s that we are just getting started.
